Mindful Expressions:
A Creative Path to Mindfulness for the New Year
What if mindfulness felt less like sitting still,
and more like an invitation to put pen to paper?
Mindful Expressions combines the proven benefits of mindfulness with the joy of simple creative expression. No artistic talent required...just a curiosity and willingness to explore.

This is not about making art or being creative. It's about using your hands, simple patterns, and gentle mark-making as a doorway to calm, focus, and self-discovery. Think of it as meditation you can see and touch.

What Makes This Program Different?
Unlike traditional mindfulness classes, Mindful Expressions gives you something tangible to work with. You'll use simple drawing techniques (just lines, dots, and basic shapes), reflective journaling, and Neurographica and Zentangle®, relaxing pattern-drawing methods that anyone can do, regardless of artistic experience.

If you can hold a pen, you can do this. No artistic ability required...
Why Creativity Enhances Mindfulness
Research shows that engaging your hands in repetitive, focused activity like drawing simple patterns can naturally calm the mind and increase concentration. It gives your busy mind a moment to rest, making the present moment more accessible and even more enjoyable for many people (me included!).

If you find traditional meditation challenging, this hands-on approach can be a welcome alternative.
"What a delight you are to work with, and learn from Vanessa...You’ve taught me to rotate my tile as I’m working on a design, to incorporate shading, and to remember that this art form really does feed the soul." -
~Deb
